The scale could have said worse so I guess I can't complain. Looks like a have a lot of work to do....next week. Did I mention that I'm leaving tomorrow for Chicago? We are going the USC/Notre Dame football game on Saturday. I digress....
Last night's bunco was a blast!!! It was at my very pregnant friend's house. She insisted on hosting even though she's a few weeks away from delivering. So....we decided to turn her bunco into a surprise baby shower. We hid all the presents and laid them out in another room while we were eating dinner....she was very surprised!!!
The evening started with the obligatory glass of champagne.
The spread was incredible and sooooo delicious!! There were veggies, chips and an assortment of dips....
Homemade French Onion Soup (soooo good!)....
Some yummy shrimp....
Fabulous beef tenderloin on crispy baguette slices...
....and dessert of course!! I had a half of one of the cupcakes in the background, one of the mini chocolate sandwiches below:
...and one of these AMAZING little carrot cake cookies with cream cheese icing in the middle. Holy yum.
We had so much fun eating, drinking, catching up and especially suprising the mom to be!!!!
This morning was a return of an old favorite: Ezekiel bread with a tablespoon of Barney Butter and what was left of my slightly, squishy strawberries. Since my son decided that 5:45 was an appropriate time to wake up this morning, I also felt I needed a cup of coffee (with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and sugar free vanilla syrup).
After dropping the kids at school, I went for a much needed cardio session at the gym. I decided to try this treadmill workout below. I started doing the running part but switched to the walking part mid way through. I think I need to get back into "before vacation" shape before I do the whole thing running. I did feel amazing afterwards.
After a quick shower it was back to my daughter's class to celebrate one of the teacher's birthdays. I'm a room mom for both kids so teacher's birthdays are one of our many responsibilities. I'm proud to say that I didn't eat the cake although it smelled really good and my daughter didn't finish her piece. Yeah me!!! After that it was Subway for lunch. The usual: turkey on wheat with all the veggies (no olives), extra regular mustard and spicy mustard, vinegar and extra pepper.
I had some time to kill before picking up my son so I went inside a clothing store near Subway that I hadn't been to before. So glad I did....such cute stuff! I bought a top and a pair of jeans.
So now I'm in the middle of blogging, doing laundry, feeding the kids and getting packed up for my trip tomorrow. I went from 90 degree weather and bathing suits to 40 degree weather and Uggs for tomorrow. Crazy!!! Not sure what dinner will be tonight yet but hubby is at a work dinner and I don't want to have to do a lot of dishes. Sounds like some kind of frozen dinner right?
Yay Bunco:) I play once a month with my girlfriends, too. Wow you guys go all out with the food spread! Looks delicious.
