How is it Sunday evening already? Where did the day go?
Breakfast was a repeat of yesterday. I'm really loving this almond butter:
I decided to do some more baking. With my overripe bananas, I made Giada's recipe for Banana Muffins with Mascarpone Cream Frosting minus the frosting.
Oh my....these were AWESOME muffins!!!! I can only imagine them with the frosting (I didn't have any mascarpone)...I think they'd be more like cupcakes then.
I put away all the laundry, got myself and the kids dressed, and waited for the hubby to get back from golfing. Once he did we went to my son's friend's 5th birthday party. It was quite the party....bounce house, pony rides, princess, face painter, DJ, pool equipped with lifeguard. And best of all....catering from Phil's BBQ!
I had some potato salad, pasta salad, baby back ribs and that big ole rib is a beef rib. I like the baby backs better so I only ate half of the beef rib and went back for some more baby backs. I love ribs and so rarely eat them that this was a huge treat! I ate some of my son's piece of birthday cake as well.
I just got back from the grocery store...buying ingredients for tonight's dinner. While I was at cooking class at Il Fornaio yesterday, I asked the chef how to make my husband's favorite dish there. Let's see how it turns out. :)
What was the best thing you ate all weekend? For me...it was Phil's baby back ribs by far!

Oooh Phil's. Delicious! The best thing I ate all weekend was my entire dinner at Roy's last night. Spicy tuna roll, this amazingly tender fish (I think it's called Butterfish?) and I channeled my inner Melissa and got the chocolate lava cake with ice cream. I wasn't planning on eating too much of the cake and oh.my.gosh. it was to die for!
ReplyDeleteI bought almond butter for the first time yesterday...I still have yet to try it!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing I ate all weekend...Hawaiian BBQ Chicken pizza!!
When my bananas start to get squishy, I toss them in the freezer. The skins immediately turn dark brown, but the fruit remains intact for quite a while! Once I have enough, I love making my banana mini-bundt cakes with home-made caramel frosting.
ReplyDeleteI must try this Giada recipe though, as I am a new fan of Marscapone, having just tried it for the first time a few months ago! I want to wear that stuff! Soooo yummy!
The best thing I ate all weekend was a grilled chicken breast smothered in goat cheese on the softest bun imaginable. I had it poolside at Estancia in La Jolla, and thought of you and how much you would have appreciated the flavor combination. Also, how proud of me you would be that I was eating goat cheese. I have really come far thanks to you, huh? Also, didn't even gain a pound all weekend! Yahoo!
Best thing I ate all weekend would have to be the seared ahi at Flemings Friday night. Good strong wasabi with it, which makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteThe ribs look amazing!
ReplyDeleteYUM! Your ribs make everything I had pale in comparison.
