141.6…Would you like some Kahlua in your brownies?
Yes Please!
When my husband came home last night and asked me if I wanted to go to Firenze (my favorite restaurant) for dinner, the answer was YES!
Monday night is a great night to go to Firenze because they have half price bottles of wine. Nice.
We split our regular salad: Chopped Caesar.
I ordered a basic angel hair pasta with tomato sauce:
My husband ordered spaghetti with chicken meatballs. He asked me if I wanted one. Yes, please.
Oh my….those are big balls!!!
:)
I went to bed happy, food coma and all.
Breakfast was egg beaters with some leftover guacamole…nice combo by the way! I had half an apple too.
I took the kids to school and then went to Great News for a cooking class. Today’s class was a shorter class where you come for “lunch”. Instead of a bunch of different things, they make an entire meal that you eat at once.
I stopped at Starbucks for some tea while I caught up on blogs. I brought some cherries to snack on.
Today’s class was Quick & Easy Lunch – Valentine’s Day. We had Almond Crusted Chicken Breasts with Lemony Leek Sauce, Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Broccolini with Grape Tomatoes and Fresh Herbs:
This would be a great meal anytime, not just for Valentine’s Day. I loved the crunch of the almonds on the chicken and the sauce was to die for. I was worried I wouldn’t like the buttermilk in the mashed potatoes but you couldn’t really tell…they were perfect!
But what was really perfect was the dessert: Chocolate Kahula Torte with a Cheesecake Swirl and Raspberry Sauce:
Amazing. The raspberry sauce had Chambord liqueur in it. :) The torte was baked in a springform pan but could easily be baked in a 9x13 inch pan for a more brownie style. I will definitely be making this torte/brownies soon so be on the look-out!
I have Bunco tonight at Lisa’s so I need to get dressed and get on outta here! Have a great evening!
Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? If so, what will you be doing?
That is a GIANT meatball! OMG!
ReplyDeleteYour cooking class sounds like so much fun! I wish I had access to one here! <3
