143.8…Too Tired
I was up way past my bedtime last night. Good times were had but now I’m paying for it. :(
Our friends won Los Angeles Laker tickets in a luxury box complete with a driver to and from LA. We were the lucky invitees. Our ride picked us up at 3PM and we hit the road for Los Angeles. There may have been some toasting on the way.
The driver provided cheese and crackers. I didn’t eat much of a lunch so I went to town on the cheese. :)
We arrived in Los Angeles a couple of hours later and went to the Palm restaurant for a quick dinner. The wine list offered 6 oz OR 9 oz glasses of wine. Guess which one I went with. :)
9 ounces of my dreams.
By the time we ate dinner, I was super hungry so I went with two appetizers. The wedge salad:
This thing was pretty big and the best wedge I’ve ever had. I also ordered the appetizer crab cake:
It came with mango salsa which I’m not a fan of. The crab cake was a little too sweet tasting for me but I loved the lump crab meat in it.
I was still in full salad mode when the crab cake arrived. At that point I had two large plates in front of me. The next thing I know, the waiter is having my scoot back so he can pull an extra part of the table out to make it bigger for me. Yep, I’m that girl that needs more room for my food.
We arrived at the Staples Center, found our seats in the luxury box and watched the Lakers dominate!
At some point a cart of desserts appeared:
Hell yeah!
I would have liked to hitch a ride on that baby and see where it took me. :) I choose a slice of smores cake. It was layers of chocolate cake, graham crackers, marshmallows and who knows what else. It was amazing.
We didn’t get home until after 11pm. I had a hard time falling asleep for whatever reason so when my alarm went off this morning, I was not a happy camper.
I made some toast with almond butter and had the last two mandarin oranges. I really need to get to the store.
I took the kids to school and went to Cardio Muscle class. My half marathon training for today was supposed to be 4 miles of rolling hills. After class was over I could not bring myself to run. There was no way my legs were going to cooperate so I skipped it. I’m not going to lie….I felt and still feel guilty. I haven’t skipped a run once. But I really need to listen to my body. That run would have been ugly.
I came home and read some blogs. By 11:00 I was famished. Tomato soup and grilled cheese again.
Sorry the food has been boring lately! I just realized that I haven’t cooked any real meal in awhile! This week won’t be any better. It’s going to be a crazy week!
I picked up my daughter from school and took her to a playdate. From there we picked up my son and came home. My daughter has another playdate this afternoon. She is a social lady. :)
I cannot wait for bedtime. Can. Not. Wait. This week is going to be nuts. Wait until you see what I’ve got going on. :)
What is your regular bedtime?
Are you looking forward to anything this week?
Jealous.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun little road trip to the lakers game. I would have been all about that dessert cart.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel guilty about resting...I bet you needed it!
Intrigued to see what you've got going on...

ReplyDeleteLove the road trip - I would LOVE to go to a Laker's game!
I'm not big on mango salsa, or mango in general. wish I was!

Are you looking forward to anything this week? Joining on my New Job !
this sounds like so much fun!! my regular bed time is early...like 10pm at the latest. i love sleeping :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to watch a game!
ReplyDeleteI am normally in bed by 11:00, and then get up at 6:30. I don't have to leave my house until 8:30 to get to work (yeah 10 minute commute!) so I have two hours to cook, blog, drink coffee, etc. - love my mornings! :D
My "bedtime" is unfortunately non-existent. I would LOVE to go to bed by 10 PM or even midnight. Last night I was up until 4 AM (I overate and it's hard for me to sleep on a full stomach) and usually I can't get to bed before 2 AM b/c I'm glued to the computer. I'm looking forward to the weekend--we're going to visit friends in TX for the first time since they moved 3 years ago.
