143.0…Happy Memorial Day!
In honor of this special day, I thought I’d share a few more fighter jet pictures!
It took me awhile to recover from my fighter jet experience. I forgot to mention in yesterday’s post that I got to actually fly the plane as well. A few years ago, I was trying to get my pilot’s license and was flying a few different Cessna airplanes so I have a bit of experience flying planes. :) This jet handled pretty well and it actually made me feel better to have control over the plane and fly it myself.
When dinner time rolled around last night, I decided that Mexican food sounded good so hubby went to pick it up for me. :) I ordered a chicken and guacamole burrito from Los Primos.
I didn’t quite have my normal appetite back so I only ate half.
I had a hard time sleeping last night. I kept thinking about my crazy day! I will be glad not to repeat it again.
Something exciting (besides the fighter jet flight) came out of yesterday. While my husband and kids were at the pilot’s house waiting for me to fly by, they were able to get fresh eggs from the chickens that the pilot had at his house. I put those eggs to use this morning for breakfast.
I fried them up in a little butter, salt and pepper and put them on toast. So Amazing. I forgot how good fried eggs were. :)
Forgot to mention that on the only day I was able to sleep in (in a LONG time), the phone rang at 5:45am. No one was there. UGH. So I got up and brewed some coffee and started the day.
I forgot how good lazy mornings were. We just sat around this morning in our pajamas doing nothing. Love. Finally it was time to get ready to go to our club’s Memorial Day barbecue!
We were able to score great seats! I also scored a great glass of wine!
Happy!
Lunch was a delicious cheeseburger and onion rings.
I actually only ate one onion ring. The cheeseburger had my heart today. :) After a few hours at the pool, we made our way home.
I really don’t see dinner in my future. I’m still full from the burger!
Back to real life tomorrow……
How do you like your eggs?
How did you celebrate your Memorial Day?
I celebrated by resting and relaxing with the fam! Your eggs look yummy - i'm a huge fan of a scrambled egg (with some milk, salt and creole seasoning). :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect day. Love hearing about your excitement with the flying.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool experience! Do you ever think about finishing about your pilots license?
ReplyDeleteMellissa: I have thought about it but I if I did, it probably wouldn't be until the kids get older. I had a scary experience where my engine died and we couldn't restart it. Fortuneatly we were able to find a private airstrip to glide to and put the plane on the ground. I think I'm done piloting for awhile. :)
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, dude! You flew the plane???? SWEET. You are such a badass. I had no idea. :)

I think you may have stumbled across a new way to diet: fly a fighter jet every few days to keep your stomach upset so you don't want to eat. lol! For some reason, I got the impression yesterday that you were flying with help, and I'm impressed! That would be a rush for me, to have control over something so big and dangerous. Farm-fresh eggs are the only kind I will get, and I like them fried! Over easy for me. We spent the day with church friends--our pastor had a cookout at his house and it was so good! Their neighbor's had horses and I had a great time petting them--I love horses! We also played some games and at one point I had a basket strapped to my head while people threw balls at my face. Don't ask! lol
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty in your memorial day picture! Sounds like a fabulous picture!
