144.2…yesterday; 145.4 today; Off To Alaska Again!
Happy Saturday!! Hope it’s treating you well!
Thursday night’s dinner was more freezer leftovers. This time I reheated some turkey enchiladas and paired it with a big salad.
Friday morning’s breakfast was another sample I got at BlogHer:
Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats with a Touch of Fruit.
I added almond milk, raspberries and strawberries to it. It was pretty good. I used to eat Frosted Mini Wheats when I was younger so it brought back memories.
I took the kids to the bus for camp. It was their last day of camp for the summer. I cannot believe how fast summer is flying by! I went to my Cardio Muscle class and got my butt kicked. The new instructor recently asked me what I wanted from the class and I said more cardio. Not sure if I like or regret what I said. :)
When I got home there was a fabulous package waiting for me:
My OpenSky order for Teddie Peanut Butter! So excited! I tried this peanut butter when I was in Boston and fell in love. I cannot find it out here so I was excited to see it on OpenSky!
After my sweaty workout, I was starving. While I prepared my lunch, I snacked on the rest of the open bag of jalapeno Popchips. I am really loving these!
Lunch was a turkey & Swiss sandwich with a giant salad.
I got laundry started, kept packing for our trip and picked up the kids. When I got home it was wine time!
This entire week I did not have any wine or dessert. I tried to make it a “detox” sort of week and it has been great but I was ready for my wine. :)
We took the kids and met some friends at Buca di Beppo for dinner. I had some more wine:
We ordered a large antipasto salad for the table. I love this salad!!
I also had a small piece of the kids’ pizza (they have great pizza!) and a piece of bread from the bread basket.
We split a Chicken Marsala:
And the Spicy Chicken Rigatoni:
This pasta is my favorite pasta dish they have. The chicken Marsala was something new to me and I did not like it. The sauce tasted like pancake syrup. Nasty.
We ordered a huge brownie sundae for the table:
I just ate some of the ice cream. The brownies were really hard and stale tasting. So if you go to Buca di Beppo, order the antipasto salad and the Spicy Chicken Rigatoni. After a week of healthy eats, I enjoyed my splurge for sure!
This morning I broke out the Teddie Peanut Butter in the super chunky variety. I put it on a toasted piece of raisin bread and had some strawberries on the side.
Next was an awesome spin class followed by an even more awesome shower. :)
Lunch was an egg salad sandwich and a huge salad:
I’m doing an awesome job of using up stuff in the refrigerator before our trip! I also used this up:
A cake pop from BlogHer that I forgot I had. These things are dangerous!
I just got back from getting the kids a haircut. The rest of the day will be spent packing and getting ready to leave tomorrow! We are going to stay with my mother in law tomorrow in Orange County and then we fly to Vancouver on Monday. Tuesday our Disney Alaska cruise departs. Yes, we are going on the same cruise AGAIN. You can read the reason here.
So I will be going without the internet again. No blogs, no Twitter, no nothing. It actually feels really good to unplug. Excited about doing it again. I will be back late next Tuesday night. I will miss you all though….really. :)
Bon Voyage!
What was your favorite cereal growing up? I loved Lucky Charms!
Have you ever had a cake pop? Made them?
My favorite cereal growing up was Apple Jacks. I have never made cake pops but have eaten them and they are yummy! Have a great time on your cruise, again! Hopefully you'll spot things you missed on the last one! :) And definitely see more whales!
ReplyDeleteI love cake pops. I make them almost every holiday season. Far too dangerous to have around the house year round!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break from technology! I try to do that for a few hours each week. When I'm on vacation, I think it's lovely to not be as connected all of the time.
I love Buca Di Beppo. I usually get stuck on wanting the lasagna and won't get anything else b/c I'm a creature of habit. Never had cake pops-but sure I'd love 'em. My fav cereal growing up was frosted flakes but the parents wouldn't buy them so I ate bran flakes which I now love.
ReplyDeleteThat PB looks awesome - as does the cakepop! I've never had one or made it, but want to and plan to! More travel?! I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteI just love cereal, could eat it all the time! Frosted Mini Wheats, Sugar Smacks, I could keep going and going.
ReplyDeleteI love mini wheats actually but wasn't a fan of fruit in the middle...I like the original or cinnamon ones! Love cake pops! Have fun on your trip!
ReplyDeleteI used to love visiting my grandma because she would have the tiny multi-packs of cereal - of course we always went for Lucky Charms and Sugar Smacks until all that was left was Wheaties by the end of the week!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great time - its nice to unplug!
eeeee have fun!!!!!!!!!! =) happy travels and tty soon love!
ReplyDeleteps: popchips bbq has my heart =) YUM!
