143.4 yesterday, 144.4 today…Sandwiches and Sushi
I ate a lot this weekend. I didn’t mean to. It just happened, you know?
Saturday I was prepared to stay home and make a healthy dinner. The next thing I know, I get a text from my husband, who was out golfing, that his friend just scored a hole in one and that we are all going to our club for dinner to celebrate. That deserved a glass of wine don’t you think?
I started with my favorite salad there: The Wedge.
I ordered the Beef Tenderloin basically because it came with truffled mac and cheese.
The mac and cheese is that fried square behind the steak. Yeah. Not only did I eat mac and cheese but I ate FRIED mac and cheese. Oh my.
We did not have dessert so it’s not like I went totally crazy.
Saturday morning we were up bright and early to hit the road for Los Angeles for our friends’ two children’s birthday party. I ate breakfast in the car: Teddie peanut butter sandwich.
I have to say that the food they had at the party was the best food I’ve ever had at a little kid’s birthday party. They had tons of deli food, including make your own sandwiches.
I love roast beef, especially when it’s rare. A roast beef sandwich with cheese and mustard cannot be beat.
So much so that I made two. TWO. They were huge! I enjoyed every single bite. Again, I only had two bites of cake so it wasn’t like I lost my mind or anything.
We went to my brother in law’s house afterwards to spend the rest of the day. I was pretty full from my giant sandwiches but he had this amazing dip that he insisted I try.
Wow. That was seriously amazing stuff. Have you tried this!?!
I brought the cookies I made on Saturday over to their house. They were a hit! If you like chewy chocolate chip cookies, make these!
We picked up dinner: the guys and kids had Islands and my sister in law and I had sushi! We picked up sushi from Shibuya. Fun fact: Shibuya is three doors from the Kardashian’s store Dash. I was kind of excited. :)
We got all sorts of rolls….spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, albacore and sea bass. I was in heaven.
As if that wasn’t enough, I had a piece of ice cream cake. So much for not eating desserts.
After all that, we drove home and I collapsed in bed after getting the kids in their bed.
Today I was ready to get back to my healthy eating! Breakfast was Fage strawberry yogurt with raspberries and strawberries.
My husband took the kids to school and I went to Cardio Muscle class. It felt great getting a good workout in!
I went to the grocery store and the dry cleaner and came home for lunch.
Tuna with a bit of mayo, celery, red onion, pickles, garlic salt and paprika.
I picked my daughter up from school and took her her “Dog Smart” appointment. Afterwards I ate a snack of an apple and Babybel cheese.
We picked up my son and came home. Tonight’s activities involve cooking dinner, starting to pack for Chicago (we leave Thursday!) and getting our guest room ready for my parents who are visiting tomorrow. Have a great rest of your evening!
What was the best thing you ate all weekend?
If I ever got a hole in one I would throw myself a HUGE party. But um, that's never going to happen. My father-in-law made Indian food on Sunday and it was amazing. They bought homemade, fresh whole-wheat naan to go with it. So freaking good.
ReplyDeleteI am having such a time posting comments on blogs lately? not sure this will work but the ice cream cake looks YUM!
ReplyDeleteok, yah it worked! Hm...the best thing I ate all weekend? probably the chicken wings we had last night during the football game, or the yummy wine Sat night.... I have to say my weight loss attempt has been pretty meh - I was in high gear for about 3 wks, tracking all on lose it, etc - didnt lose one ounce, despite eating in range and exercise. Sadly I start to come unglued mentally. I am attempting to be back on track as of today. I keep debating do i need to go back to WW, as I know I can lose weight on it - but why on earth can't I lose weight on Lose it? same principle, you know??? grrrr...

ReplyDeleteAndrea: Ugh...that can be really frustrating! Are you drinking a lot of water? Have you been meansuring your portions? Sometimes we forgot what portion sizes are supposed to look like. Good luck and stick with it!
