144.0…Back In Black
Creativity. I don’t have it. I am an awesome direction follower and can follow a recipe to a “T”. But artistic, I am not. Last night I was blown away by my friend Corene’s decorations at Bunco. She has creativity and artistic design nailed!
The theme of Bunco was Halloween and everyone had to wear all black.
I bought a bottle of wine to bring over based solely on the label. We all do that right? :)
Ok, check out Corene’s decor. The pictures DO NOT do it justice.
Corene made a delicious champagne cocktail using mango juice, champagne and vodka. Don’t you just love the orange color?
I love the orange cheese puffs idea!
Corene made the Tomato Basil soup from the Nordstrom cookbook. Again…loving all the orange food!
Corene made a delicious pasta salad with different colored tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese and regular colored AND black colored pasta!
For dinner we had our choice of Butternut Squash Cannoli, Beef Tenderloin, Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus and the Tomato Pasta Salad. I had a bit of everything of course!
Dessert was just as fabulous as dinner was! Check out this amazing chocolate cake that Corene made:
It’s made with zucchini but you’d never know it! The cake was delicious but the ganache was really outstanding.
Corene also made a pumpkin cheesecake:
And if that wasn’t enough, check out these cookies she made:
Thank you so much Corene for a spook-tacular evening. :) Sorry…had to do it!
After all that indulgence last night…..and let’s get real….for the last FEW nights, I decided I need to reel things back in for the next couple of days. So for the next 48 hours: healthy eats, no wine and tons of water. I think I can do it. :)
Breakfast was an omelet made with egg beaters, pickled jalapenos, onions, green bell pepper, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. I poured Tabasco on top. :)
I took the kids to school and went to Cardio Boot Camp class. After changing, I grabbed an apple and a Babybel Light cheese and went to my wax appointment.
Afterwards I stopped into Corner Bakery for a salad. I ordered the entree size of the Asian Wonton Salad except that I asked for no fried wontons and the dressing on the side.
Then it was off to Target and to pick up the kids from school. Tonight I have nothing going on and I’m glad. Here’s to putting my feet up for one night!
And now for the winner of the Eggland’s Best Giveaway: According to Random.org, the winner is Mellissa from A Fit and Spicy Life. Congratulations Mellissa!
Are you a creative type of person?
Do you decorate your home for Halloween? I put out a pumpkin. End of story.
I love that when you enjoy yourself it always seems to be with good friends and family. That's when it's completely worth it and you HAVE to live a little!
