Cheddar Beer Bread-St. Patrick’s Day Blog Hop
For the next installment in our Holiday Blog Hop series, St. Patrick’s Day was our theme. Our ingredient choices were pistachios, potatoes and beer. As soon as I saw beer, I knew I had to share of of my favorite breads: Cheddar Beer Bread.
The best part about this bread (besides the taste) is the ease of making it. There’s only four ingredients and you combine them and bake. It doesn’t get any easier.
The result is this amazing, delicious, crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside, fabulousness that begs to be eaten as soon as it comes out of the oven.
Cheddar Beer Bread
3 cups self rising flour
1/3 cup sugar
One (12 oz.) bottle of beer (I’ve used Corona, Bass Ale and Pacifico-but any fine!)
Heaping cup of shredded cheddar cheese
Combine all ingredients, stir well and put in a prepared loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
*Note: If you don’t have self rising flour, here is an easy substitution: For every cup self rising flour, use 7/8 cup all-purpose flour PLUS 1 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt instead.
