138.4…A Personal Record
It is no secret that I love hot wings.
It’s more like an obsession probably. Now this sign hangs happily in my pantry. Last night was “hot wing” night at Alicia’s house and I brought her her very own sign for her house. We are both crazy but it’s ok.
For those of you who don’t read my blog regularly, we meet twice a month and make our very own hot wings….all fried and coated in Frank’s Hot Wing Sauce and melted butter. We do believe that it is the best recipe ever.
Our evening began as usual with wine.
I start each plate the same way:
Four hot wings, ranch dressing and some salad. Then I go up and get more wings in increments of four.
We had set a record awhile back of each eating 16 hot wings. Last night I felt the need to do something crazy.
17 hot wings. In my defense, Alicia had a friend over last night who was a vegetarian. Well, she was until last night. I’m sure the wonderful hot wing aroma overtook her and forced her to eat those 3 hot wings. Whatever the case, she is no longer a vegetarian. Next she tells me, “If I can eat three hot wings, you can break the record and eat 17.” What was I supposed to do? :) And anyway…Kobayashi ate a record 337 chicken wings in 30 minutes so 17 isn’t really a big deal.
Somehow I had room for a small piece of my Chocolate Chip Cookie Oreo Fudge Brownie Bars. They are impossible to resist.
This morning I knew I needed to do some damage control so I began the day in a healthy way.
Pineapple Chobani yogurt (my favorite flavor) with my homemade granola and berries.
Alicia (also in damage control mode) and I decided to walk to the gym today for our Cardio Muscle class. We live pretty close but there’s a lot of hills so it made for a great extra calorie burn.
Lunch was a tuna salad sandwich and side salad…trying to get all my veggies in today!
The kids are off school for the next two weeks for spring break. I took them to get their hair cut and then came home and had a snack.
Grapes and a Babybel light cheese. My husband won’t be home for dinner tonight so I’m having leftovers (that I’m excited about) tonight.
If you were ever to enter an eating contest, what would you want the food to be?
They get two weeks for Spring Break? I didn't get that when I was a kid. I'm in damage control mode right now too. What else is new after the weekend?
ReplyDeleteLove the hot wings! Being from Buffalo, I miss real chicken wings, yours look amazing! I should surprise my Husband and make them for him!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great control to your appetite. I really amazed on how good you are in taking decision where to eat healthy and where is the perfect time to eat anything you want. Even you make me believe that the healthy food can come in a great taste. Good job Mel :)
