136.0…A Meal From The Microwave
Last night’s dinner came almost entirely from the microwave. I didn’t get home until almost 6:00 last night so I knew dinner had to be quick. I had a package of Trader Joe’s Orange Chicken (awesome!) in the freezer so that was dinner. Along with some rice and broccoli, it was ready in 20 minutes.
The orange chicken went into the oven (you can also pan fry it) but the rest were made in the microwave. The rice I used was Trader Joe’s microwaveable brown rice in packets. There are 3 to a box and each packet takes 3 minutes. I love this rice! The broccoli I steamed in the microwave and the sauce for the orange chicken went in there too. The only thing that would have made things easier would have been having two microwaves. :)
This morning’s breakfast was toast with Teddie Super Chunky Peanut Butter (my favorite) and strawberries.
I dropped the kids off at school and stopped at Starbucks for a skinny vanilla latte.
I went back to the school for a event in my daughter’s class, then came home to do some more cooking for my family’s arrival tomorrow.
Lunch was a salami sandwich on rye bread with spicy mustard, veggies and Jalapeno Yogurt Dip.
I picked my daughter up from school, got a car wash and then came back to the school for an event in my son’s class.
Tonight the kids are sleeping over at a friends house so my husband and I are going out to dinner! Enjoy your Friday night!
Do you use your microwave a lot or would you not notice if it went missing?
I've heard TJ's orange chicken is good - will have to get some the next time I'm close to one. We do use our microwave, mainly for the kid's stuff...I've often thought we should get rid of it, as I'm not sure how good it it for you, but I know I would miss it.
