139.4…A Weekend of Eating & Celebrating
The title basically sums up my whole weekend quite well. We went to Los Angeles to celebrate my nephew’s Bar Mitzvah and enjoyed great food and time with family!
Thursday night before we left, I heated up the last of the spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.
It was just as good the second (third?) time. :)
Friday morning’s breakfast was toast with peanut butter and pineapple.
I loaded the car and we headed to Los Angeles. We stopped at my parent’s house for a quick visit and lunch. We decided to pick up El Pollo Loco. I had a Pollo Bowl.
Delicious and filling!
We headed to the Langham Hotel in Pasadena to check in and get ready for dinner at McCormick & Schmick’s with the entire family.
I was kneeling down because my daughter wanted to take the picture and she is short. :)
I enjoyed a glass of wine and a buffet dinner.
Chicken, salmon, steak and a ton of salad. The salad dressing was delicious!
What was also delicious was the dessert:
Apple pie a la mode. It was apple pie perfection.
Here is a picture of me and my mother in law that I love. :)
After dinner, we went to the temple to get the Bar Mitzvah started! Afterwards, we all headed back to the hotel and called it a night.
Saturday morning we were up bright and early for services at the temple. After services, we enjoyed a buffet lunch. I wasn’t supposed to bring my camera so therefore there are no pictures.
After lunch, we went back to the hotel, swam a bit, and got ready for the celebration dinner at Buca di Beppo.
There was plenty of wine….
…pizza….
….and all-you-can-eat mixed green salad & Caesar salad.
Both salads were excellent but the Caesar especially was awesome. After I ate copious amounts of pizza and salad, I dug into the pastas!
Fettuccine Alfredo:
Spaghetti Marinara:
Don’t forget the Chicken Piccatta:
I polished off every bite and then some (or a lot). It was SO good.
After dinner we made our way back to the temple for the big party!
My sister in law had a chocolate fountain at the party.
I just can’t help myself sometimes.
We enjoyed the night full of music, family, and celebrations for my nephew’s accomplishment! I’m a proud aunt!
Sunday we checked out of our hotel and went to The Magic Castle for brunch and magic shows. They do not allow photography so no photos unfortunately. The Magic Castle is a performance venue, restaurant and private club. We enjoyed a wonderful brunch and then were entertained by several different magic shows.
After the shows, it was time to say goodbye and head home. I can’t believe how fast the weekend went!
By the time we got home, I was too tired to cook dinner. We decided to go to Garcia’s Mexican restaurant. I ordered the fish tacos.
Eh. They weren’t that great. I guess I was spoiled after all the fabulous fish tacos I had in Mexico!
This morning’s breakfast was Chobani pineapple yogurt with Coconut-Sour Cherry Granola and mixed berries.
I took the kids to the bus stop and went to both Cardio Fusion Fit & Zumba classes. This is my second time taking the Cardio Fusion Fit class and it’s a bit slow for me so I felt I needed to attend Zumba for some more cardio.
After the classes, I ran some errands and came home to make lunch.
Tuna salad (red onion, cherry tomatoes, pickles, celery, Jalapeno Yogurt Dip, garlic salt & paprika), hummus and veggies.
Not much exciting on the agenda for the rest of the day….unpacking, bus pick up, etc. Enjoy the rest of your day!
What was the best thing you ate all weekend?
I did a lot of eating this weekend too...ugghh! The best thing was dinner I made Sat night - pasta with homemade sauce followed by mini chocolate chip cannoli. Yummy! Glad you had a good weekend ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun in LA! The Bucca de Beppo by us is awful - overcooked pasta, bland garlic bread - glad yours was good!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful 4th!
