140.0…Hats & Glam
Sometimes I’m not very excited about leftovers. Yesterday was an exception.
I defrosted the Hard Rock Cafe’s Baked Potato Soup, reheated it in a pot on the stove and added some chopped green onions. It froze beautifully and tasted just as good as the first time!
Breakfast this morning was my current favorite: pineapple Chobani yogurt, Coconut-Sour Cherry Granola and mixed berries.
I dropped the kids off at the bus for camp and came home to get ready for a fashion show and luncheon at Flavor in Del Mar benefiting Wounded Warriors. The theme was “Hats & Glam”.
My friend Lisa picked me up along with my friends Nora and Tami and we headed over to beautiful Del Mar for the luncheon.
We were immediately greeted with a glass of champagne.
We enjoyed a fashion show with clothing featured at Poppy & TRE boutiques. All the clothing was available before and after the show so there may have been a little shopping going on. :)
After the fashion show, we were seated for lunch.
The bread Flavor served was incredible.
It was warm and fresh out of the oven complete with butter four different kinds of salts, my favorite being the Sriracha flavor.
The first course was Watermelon & Gioia Burrata with Pistachio, Tomato and Balsamic.
The watermelon didn’t quite do it for me (you know I don’t like “fruit with my food”) but the burrata was heavenly.
The main course was Big Eye Tuna Tataki with Daikon, Avocado and Tomato-Ginger Dressing.
This salad was outstanding. I wish you could see the detail of the presentation. The lettuces were wrapped up at the bottom with some sort of rice paper to resemble sushi roll pieces. I would love to enjoy this salad again!
Dessert was Profiteroles with Caramel and Chocolate Ganache.
These were good but not anything super special. I tried two so I could sample each sauce.
We all had a great time shopping, eating and catching up. I feel like I haven’t seen my friends in forever!
After lunch I picked up the kiddos and now I’m home trying to tackle my ever-growing to-do list. When do these lists go away!?!
How often do you wear a hat? Wearing a hat today got me thinking how rarely I wear one!
