140.2…Pasta and Ponies
My husband and I went out to dinner and a movie to celebrate our 9th anniversary on Thursday night. We went to dinner at Mia Francesca’s in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center.
We had never been and I had heard great things about so I was excited! The reviews were spot on. Mia Francesca’s was excellent! The food was fabulous, the prices were pretty reasonable and the portions were large.
We split the Bruschette which was excellent!
We also split the Caprese salad. Another winner!
For my entree, I ordered the Spaghetti with Spicy Marinara topped with Prosciutto.
Holy delicious bowl of pasta! The sauce was perfection and the top was Loaded with prosciutto. I tried to finish it but I just couldn’t. I was in Italian food heaven. I cannot wait to go back.
After dinner we walked across the way to Cinepolis to see the movie “Ted”. We got seated in their fancy giant leather seats, ordered wine and a brownie sundae for dessert and relaxed while watching the movie which was pretty darn funny by the way. Who thinks of this stuff?!?
Yesterday’s breakfast was scrambled egg whites with salsa, shredded cheddar cheese and a toasted English muffin.
I’ve been trying to use up the food in the house before we leave for Europe so the pickings are slim.
I went to my Cardio Muscle class and came home to keep packing and getting ready for our trip. Lunch was another tuna sandwich with the last of the grapes and an orange.
Next up in my crazy week: The Del Mar Race Track with my husband’s company. I enjoyed some delicious Chardonnay while watching the ponies.
There was a buffet so I helped myself to a bit of everything.
Salad, hummus, pita, caprese salad.
Roast beef, horseradish and veggies.
Dessert was the winner.
Some sort of chocolate and caramel torte. I had to restrain myself from eating a second one.
I did pretty well picking the winning horses in the beginning but then my luck ran out. We came out about even so that’s not too bad. :)
This morning’s breakfast was the same as yesterday.
Like I said….slim pickings.
Alrighty…I need to get cracking….our flight to Europe leaves at 4:00 today out of Los Angeles. We fly into France and stay for a few days, then London for the Olympics, then Amsterdam for a couple of days. I’m excited!
See you from the other side of the world! ;)
Have you seen the movie Ted? What was the last movie you saw in the theater?
I haven't been blog reading in a while, so it was great to click on this page and see you all dressed up with your glass of white - nothing has changed!! :) Glad you're doing so well. I haven't seen Ted but last I saw was the Avengers and loved it!
