134.8…Insanity
The last few days have been insane. I feel like I never stop. There’s always something that needs to be done. Does anyone else feel like this?
Saturday night the kids, hubby and I went to Pei Wei. Well, they went to Pei Wei and I picked up Brett’s BBQ.
Half rack baby back ribs, cole slaw and baked beans. Yum!
Sunday morning’s breakfast was egg beaters and swiss cheese on an English muffin.
I got showered and packed for the trip to LA. I had a quick lunch of a turkey sandwich and leftover guacamole and chips.
Then my husband and I hit the road for Los Angeles for my husband’s friend’s wedding. The big issue in my mind was how I was going to hide my boot on my broken foot. I think the dress did a pretty good job!
After the ceremony, we made our way to our table.
Our table:
Because of my broken foot, I was not able to chase down all the appetizers during cocktail hour like I normally do so by the time I reached the table, I was famished. I attacked the bread.
Hubby and I:
Our salad arrived:
Then an appetizer of mushrooms in a puffed pastry.
When my sea bass entree arrived, I was still pretty hungry so I started attacking it before I snapped a picture. Oops.
That mass of orange was a sweet potato puree. A little sweet for me so I stuck with the fish and veggies. And some of the chicken from my friend’s plate. :)
The cake and dessert table were beautiful!
A bit of everything!
It stunk not being able to dance at the wedding but I still had a great time catching up with friends.
The hotel we stayed at was the Luxe Hotel. The location was great for where the wedding was located but that’s about all I can say about it. When we checked in my husband told them that I had a broken foot. Somehow they still put us in a room up a flight of stairs (no elevator) and down a long hallway. Ok fine. We ordered room service Monday morning. I ordered a Spanish omelet with fresh pico de gallo. Or so it said. Instead I got an omelet swimming in red soup.
I had a closer picture of it but decided it was too nasty looking to post. Needless to say, I didn’t eat much of it. Thank goodness it came with a bagel.
We drove back to San Diego. I immediately jumped in the car and headed to Jersey Mike’s for lunch.
Finally good food! I actually only ate half and brought the rest home.
I went to two grocery stores to get the last items needed for Thanksgiving. I hope I don’t have to go back to the store….it was a mad house!
Dinner was pasta and marinara….
…and a Caesar salad.
This morning’s breakfast was Trader Joe’s vanilla Greek yogurt with Coconut-Sour Cherry Granola and strawberries:
I dropped the kids off at school, went to Bed, Bath and Beyond to buy a new coffee maker (I broke the pot this morning) and various other errands.
I came home to get some Thanksgiving cooking done and set all the tables. Have I mentioned that I have 32 people coming on Thursday!?!
Lunch was the rest of my Jersey Mike’s sandwich and some pickles.
The sandwich was a bit squished and soggy but it was still good.
Tomorrow is a big day for cooking. And then Thursday is the big day! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Do you have all your Thanksgiving shopping done?
Thankfully my mom is doing most of the cooking - I just have to bring a side!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, where did you get your dress? I LOVE it!!!

ReplyDeleteThanks!
I got it on super sale at the Gucci outlet in Palm Springs. One of the best scores of my life. :)
