135.8 yesterday, 137.4…A Secret
With Thanksgiving fast approaching, I’m running out of room in my freezer. Monday night’s dinner freed up some room.
Michael Angelo’s Meat Lasagna. I’ve had this before and it’s pretty good. About 14 minutes in the microwave and your dinner is ready.
I served it with a Caesar salad. Even my hubby said, “this is pretty good!”.
Yesterday’s breakfast was an egg beater sandwich on a toasted English muffin with shredded cheddar cheese.
I took the kids to school, volunteered there and then came home to write my “Turkey Timeline”. Every year I write out a schedule, to the minute, of what I need to be doing on the big day. I schedule when the turkey goes in the oven, when the sides go in, when to start the gravy, etc. That way I can relax and not wonder: “What am I supposed to be doing right now!?!”
I met Lisa and Annette at Wahoo’s for our favorite fish taco lunch.
I spent the next couple of hours with Annette helping Lisa move all her clothes from her our old house to her new house. With three different cars, we were pretty productive!
Last night was Bunco at Cari’s house.
Every time I’ve been to an event at Cari’s house, her food is always fabulous. Last night was no exception.
Chicken artichoke dip:
Bruschetta with avocado….For me, this stole the show…so delicious!!
Macaroni and cheese:
There were also these amazing pulled pork sliders. I enjoyed a bit (a lot) of everything.
I went back for seconds. :)
I’m going to let you in on a secret: we haven’t played Bunco in over five years. The group started at my house about six years ago. We played for the first few months and then playing the actual game somehow fizzled away. Well, last night Cari brought the game of Bunco back to the group!
Everyone brings $5 and there are a few different winners. I ended up winning $20! I never win!
I don’t know when the next time we will play again (it was a bit taxing on the brain after a couple glasses of wine) :) but it was fun last night! Thanks Cari!!
This morning’s breakfast was Trader Joe’s Greek Vanilla yogurt, Coconut-Sour Cherry granola and strawberries.
I dropped the kids off at school and now I’m at Starbucks enjoying a latte before my daughter’s parent teacher conference.
Tomorrow is a big day. If all goes well with my x-rays, I will be getting the pins out of my broken foot tomorrow. I haven’t really talked about it but my foot hurts just about all the time. I can feel the pins (eeeeek!) and I think once they are out, I will feel a whole lot better! (Hopefully!). Lisa is driving me to my appointment tomorrow (dr. wants me to take two pain pills=no driving) and I’m bringing a couple of other friends to hold my hand. :) Wish me luck!
Do you and your family/friends play games (board/card games, etc)? What’s your favorite?
Good luck tomorrow!! Hopefully that helps your foot feel better.
ReplyDeleteWe love Scrabble, Cribbage and Apples to Apples.
Hope all goes well with your foot! I am also hosting Thsnksgiving - which sides are you planning to make? I need some new inspiration! Also do you have a recipe for the gravy? That is the 1 thing I am scared to make homemade. I guess I can always have cans on hand if it fails :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny you go to Bunco but don't actually play! Ha! I was actually just asked to join a Bunco group, but it meets in a different town and during a night when my husband works:( Bummer!
ReplyDeletethose fish tacos look amazing!

ReplyDeleteAck! I don't know how I missed this comment! As for gravy...believe it or not, I haven't found a winner yet! This year I'm cheating and trying William Sonoma's turkey gravy base!
