140.0…Birthday Burgers
Last night we celebrated our friend’s 40th birthday at The Public House in La Jolla.
As we hung around drinking wine, there were various appetizers to try. I headed straight towards the hot wings. No photo…kinda hard to hold a glass of wine, eat hot wings and photograph them at the same time. :) The wings were very good…not as good as mine of course but good!
The star of the night was my burger.
The Santa Burger: fire-roasted poblano peppers, avocado, grilled onions, pepper jack cheese and ancho mayo. The burger was HUGE. And DELICIOUS. The onion rings also were out of this world. Get yourself a Santa Burger STAT.
Dessert was a delicious slice of birthday cheesecake!
I’m so glad to have discovered The Public House. We may have to add it to our “Burger Crawl” adventure.
Breakfast this morning was the same as yesterday. Peanut butter on toast.
I spent the day cleaning and organizing around the house….stuff that I’ve been meaning to do for awhile. Lazy weekends are perfect for that!
Lunch was a turkey sandwich on wheat.
I didn’t want to eat a ton because we are going over to Alicia and Joe’s house for Super Bowl this afternoon. I bet you can guess what we are having. :)
I’m making a special dessert…can’t wait to share it with you!
What are your Super Bowl plans?
The burger does look good - I treated myself to an excellent bleu cheese burger from Whole Foods, which I cooked during halftime of the game. I might have to add the Pub to my list of places to try in San Diego.
