140.2…An Indian Dinner Party
Last night our friends Alicia, Sherry and their husbands came over for dinner. We have started a “gourmet club” and have decided to meet a few times a year. The first time was at Alicia’s house and it was such a success that we decided to keep it going. The person hosting usually makes the main dish and the others bring sides and dessert.
We decided to make Indian food!
All set up and ready to go!
Everyone arrived and started to enjoy some wine and an awesome appetizer that Alicia brought.
She bought this Spicy Pepper Jam at Whole Foods and served it with goat cheese and crackers. It was a winner! I’ll have to keep it in mind the next time I need to bring an appetizer somewhere.
I made one of my favorite dishes of all time: Indian Butter Chicken.
To go with it, I made Basmati Rice.
Alicia made my Saag Paneer recipe.
It turned out perfect!
Sherry brought my favorite Naan from Trader Joe’s.
My plate:
Giant piece of naan! Don’t worry….I ate it all.
Check out the homemade German Chocolate Cake that Sherry made!
This thing was HUGE!
So was my slice! I almost ate it all. I came embarrassingly close.
We had such a great time! I love our Gourmet Club and can’t wait until the next time we get together!
Breakfast this morning was toast and peanut butter.
We ran some errands and dropped the kids off at their school event. Lunch was Indian leftovers.
I’m not complaining.
Do you participate in a Gourmet/food club?
