137.6…The New Routine
My daily routine the last couple of weeks has become: get up, go to hospital, have breakfast in the cafeteria with my mom, have lunch in the cafeteria with my mom and whomever else is there, have dinner either in the cafeteria or out somewhere. I’ve been going to bed way past my normal bedtime and have been sleeping later than normal too. The kids go back to school on Monday….should be interesting to see how I’m going to start getting up at 5:45AM again!
Wednesday night’s dinner was in the cafeteria. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and black bean chorizo soup.
I like the grilled chicken sandwiches but they are getting old.
Thursday morning’s breakfast was a toasted English muffin and a fruit cup.
Decided to switch things up from the usual omelet.
Lunch was chili with onions and cheese. It was actually really good!
My brother, Stephanie and I went to Parkway Grill for dinner. We tried to go to Houston's but the wait was too long.
I started with Bibb Lettuce Salad with burrata cheese and aged sherry-shallot vinaigrette.
It was amazing. Loved it.
We all split two different pizzas. Prosciutto and arugula pizza with artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes and pesto:
This one was my favorite. The flavor combination was outstanding.
The other pizza was Vine-Ripened Tomato Pizza with sweet basil, roasted garlic and fresh mozzarella:
It was also good but not as awesome as the first.
Breakfast yesterday morning was another toasted English muffin with peanut butter and a fruit cup.
Lunch was sushi. They have someone making fresh sushi at lunchtime in the cafeteria so I decided to give it a go.
It was pretty decent actually. I enjoyed it.
My husband and kids came into town and the kids went to my brother in law’s house. My husband, brother and Stephanie went to dinner at Amigo’s last night. They have awesome Mexican food. I chose the Camerones Diablos.
Super spicy and fabulous! I went back to the hospital for a bit and then to the hotel to call it a night.
This morning I slept in a bit so I just grabbed a coffee and a fruit cup on my way into the hospital for breakfast.
My routine might be a bit different today. I think we are going to my brother in law’s house this afternoon to hang out for bit. A nice change of pace! :)
My dad is doing pretty darn well. He was making jokes last night and laughing and it was so heartwarming to see. I felt like, for the first time in over two weeks, that I could breathe again.
Is your daily routine pretty consistent or is it always changing?
I hope your dad continues to feel better! Best Wishes.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear your dad is doing better.
