142.6…Making Up For Lost Time
This past weekend was full of deliciousness. I probably undid the good work that happened in my “12 Day Program” but it was worth it.
My husband and I went to Mastro’s Friday night. Our anniversary (10 years!) is coming up soon so we decided to do some early celebrating.
I started out the meal with my favorite salad: the wedge.
To me, that’s a plate of pure perfection.
My husband and I shared a filet, creamed spinach and a twice baked potato.
As if that wasn’t decadent enough, they gave us a complimentary butter cake for our anniversary.
If you ever go to Mastro’s, you MUST try this cake. Unreal.
We ordered room service for breakfast the next morning. I had my favorite “vacation breakfast”: two eggs over easy, bacon, hashed browns and an English muffin.
My mom met us at the hotel and we went shopping and had lunch with her at The Blvd restaurant at the Beverly Wilshire hotel. I had a Cobb salad.
We shopped a little more then went back to the hotel to relax before getting ready for dinner. On our way out, our hotel (Beverly Hills Hotel) had a fun backdrop I decided to pose in front of. Why not? :)
We made our way over to the SLS hotel for a friend’s birthday dinner at The Bazaar restaurant. I really like the cocktail napkins they had in the lobby bar.
Good advice. :)
I also like the bathroom in the restaurant. It was full of mirrors!
I am everywhere!
The Bazaar’s menu is tapas style. They are all small plates meant to be shared. There were so many things on the menu so I just asked the server what she recommended. Everything that we ordered ended up being delicious! These are most of the dishes we had….I may have missed a couple.
Not Your Everyday Caprese (cherry tomatoes, liquid mozzarella):
Jicama Wrapped Guacamole (micro cilantro, corn chips):
Sautéed Shrimp (garlic, guindilla pepper):
Philly Cheesesteak (air bread, cheddar, Wagyu beef):
Seared Wagyu Flank Steak (piquillo pepper sphere):
Wild Mushroom Rice (Idiazabal cheese):
Pa’amb Tomaquet (Catalan style toasted bread, Manchego, tomato):
After the meal was complete, we moved to the “dessert room” which looked like a giant candy museum.
My favorite dessert was the Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Other desserts arrived but the cookies were my favorite.
The Bazaar was definitely a unique place and worth the experience. I had never been to a restaurant quite like it.
Yesterday’s breakfast was the same as the day before.
If it ain’t broke….
Then it was time to drive up to where my son when to summer camp a couple weeks ago. It was visitor’s day and my nephew was still there. It was great to see the bunks where my son slept for two weeks!
I had a slice of pizza and a brownie while I was there for the day. On the long drive home, we stopped at Woodranch Grill for dinner. I had a delicious salad to start.
Followed by baby back ribs, peanut slaw and corn.
Today it was definitely time to get back on track. Breakfast started out right with scrambled egg beaters and a half a grapefruit.
I took the kids to the camp bus, then hit the gym for Cardio Muscle class. Lunch was with Annette at Wahoo’s for fish tacos.
It’s hard to get back on track after enjoying my decadent weekend!
How do you “get back on track”?
