144.2…Gifts Galore
Let the eating continue! Monday night was “Hot Wing Night” at Alicia’s!
We usually make a frozen pizza for the kids but the adults enjoy some of it too. :)
I brought the salad (BBQ Ranch):
Alicia made the Hot Wings:
We all dug in.
‘Twas excellent as usual!
I brought some of “Grandma Ople’s Apple Pie” that I made for Thanksgiving for dessert along with my homemade ice cream.
Breakfast Tuesday morning was scrambled egg beaters with turkey, salsa and cheddar cheese.
I took the kids to school, volunteered for a bit, then attended both kids’ class Hanukkah celebrations. My husband, mom and mother in law were there so we all went out to lunch at Villa Capri afterwards.
They had a lunch special that included an appetizers, main dish and dessert. It was too good to pass up. My appetizer was Carpacci Manzo (thinly sliced raw filet mignon with chopped arugula, capers, shaved parmesan cheese and olive oil):
It was perfectly delicious!
My entree was the Chicken Piccata. Big surprise, huh?
Delish!
Dessert was Bread Pudding.
I didn’t really care for it. Can’t win ‘em all!
After lunch, I came home to get ready for Bunco. December Bunco is my favorite one. It’s the Holiday Bunco complete with a fun gift exchange.
This year Lisa was our gracious host.
Everything was perfect and over the top as usual!
Dinner was a potluck. I tried taking pictures of everything but food kept arriving faster than I could take the picture!
I brought one of my favorite potluck dishes: Gulliver’s Creamed Corn.
Let’s talk dessert.
Patty’s son makes the BEST cake balls you’ve every had in your life.
Mmmm! Cake balls! ;)
Time for the gift exchange!
Each person draws a number which determines the order in which each person gets to choose a gift. Your gift can be stolen by someone and becomes frozen once it’s in the third set of hands. It always provides for much entertainment.
Lisa MC’d the exchange and made it super entertaining!
What did I win?
The cutest baking stuff ever!!!!! I was extremely happy with my gift! Thank you Lisa for one of the best Holiday Buncos ever!
Breakfast this morning was toast with peanut butter and half a grapefruit.
I dropped the kids off at school, got my hair cut then headed to the mall for some holiday shopping/errands. I stopped at Nordstrom for lunch and had the Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad.
It was excellent!
I picked up the kids from school and came home to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah. We celebrated with some leftover Beef and Mushroom Ragu with Fettuccine.
This sauce is really amazing. I’ve got to make this again ASAP!
Alright….it’s getting late over here…time for bed!
Have you ever participated in a gift exchange?
Looks like you've been having a ton of fun! I love this time of year. Have you posted the recipe for the BBQ ranch salad before? It looks so good!
