142.2…Old Friends
Before I left for Los Angeles yesterday morning, I dropped the kids off at school. Breakfast that morning was scrambled egg beaters with salsa, chipotle turkey sausage and cheddar cheese.
I met my friend, Alexis (who I hadn't seen in a couple of years!) at her house, and we went to Sugarfish in Beverly Hills for lunch. Our meal started with Tuna Sashimi:
The next plate was Albacore, Salmon and Yellowtail Sushi:
This was followed by Halibut and Shrimp Sushi:
I have to say that this was some of the best tasting sushi I've ever had! The fish was so buttery!! Sugarfish is a winner!
After lunch, we went shopping for a bit, then headed to Bouchon Bistro for dessert. We shared a few different pastries.
We said our goodbyes and I headed to my brother's house to get ready for his law firm's anniversary party at Le Ka in downtown Los Angeles. I enjoyed several different passed appetizers there but it was too hard to take pictures. The event was held outside and it was crowded and HOT! But the food was good, nonetheless! When the event was over, I went with my brother in law across the street to The Standard Hotel to get some more to eat. When we got off the elevator to the pool area, I ran into one of my best friends from high school, Vanessa. I hadn't seen her in 12 years!!!!
Here we are in high school:
We had such a good time catching up! It's amazing how time flies!!
I stayed at my brother's house last night. This morning, I got packed up and hit the road for San Diego. I picked up a latte at Starbucks on the way.
I wasn't super hungry so I decided to wait until San Diego to eat. I picked up some groceries and grabbed a roast beef sandwich for lunch while I was there and brought it home. I had some leftover cole slaw to go with it.
There are still fires burning all over San Diego. I can see the fire in San Marcos from my bedroom window. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected.
Are you still close with friends from high school? College?
