142.6…"Cheater" Spaghetti Bolognese
Spaghetti Bolognese. Spaghetti with meat sauce. Whatever you want to call, it's incredible.
Here's a recipe that no Italian would approve of. There is cream cheese in it. I don't care. It tastes amazing.
"Cheater" Spaghetti Bolognese (Serves 4)
Recipe adapted from Kraft Recipes
Ingredients:
1/2 lb. spaghetti
1 lb. ground beef
1 cup diced onions
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1-2 tsp. Italian seasoning
4 oz. cream cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Cook spaghetti as directed on package.
2. Meanwhile, brown meat and cook onions together in a large skillet. Add minced garlic and cook for one minute. Stir in sauce, Italian seasoning and cream cheese; cook on low heat 3 to 5 minutes or until sauce is well blended and heated through, stirring frequently. Add salt and pepper to taste.
I served the pasta with a Caesar salad.
I will be making that sauce again. It was easy and excellent! I'm glad it turned out…our friend, Eytan from Chicago, was over for dinner.
Eytan brought me his family's famous smoked salmon. It was the star of my breakfast this morning.
Scrambled egg beaters with chive cream cheese, green onions and the fabulous smoked salmon.
After breakfast, I went to a meeting, then the gym. Lunch was a turkey sandwich, Creamy Cole Slaw and Mexican Bean Salad.
On June 25th, I'll be participating in Accidental Intentions' Blog Bake Sale benefitting the Organization for Autism Research. I'm donating my Toffee Brownies so please check it out and bid on them (and the other baked goods) for this great cause!
