144.8…Peanut Butter Cup Layered Krispie Treats
When we went over to Alicia's Sunday night for tacos, I asked what I could bring. When Alicia said to bring a dessert, I knew it was a great opportunity to try a new recipe that I've been dying to make. These Peanut Butter Cup Layered Krispie Treats will satisfy your sweet tooth and then some!
Peanut Butter Cup Layered Krispie Treats (makes 16 squares)
Recipe slightly adapted from Picky Palate
Ingredients:
6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
1 large bag mini marshmallows
1/4 cup butter
2 cups creamy peanut butter
50 mini Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, quartered
Directions:
1. Place cereal into a large mixing bowl, set aside.
2. Place marshmallows and butter into a large bowl and microwave until puffed up, about 3 minutes. Remove and pour into cereal, mix to combine then pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish and press to make even.
3. Melt peanut butter in the microwave until nice and runny, about 45 seconds. Pour in quartered peanut butter cups, stir gently then pour over treats.
4. Refrigerate to harden. When set, cut into squares and serve.
Last night we went with some friends to Fogo de Chao, a Brazilian steakhouse. This was my first time in such a restaurant and what a treat it was! Word of warning: if you don't like meat, this will not appeal to you. At all.
You start with the fabulous salad bar and then you are served your choice of their 16 different meats, all served table side. You let the server know you are ready for the meats to arrive by keeping this card on your table turned to the green side:
At the salad bar, I had Caesar salad with parmesan cheese, tomato and mozzarella cheese.
Quickly, the meats began arriving. They are sliced right at your table.
I had a fabulous time trying everything but eventually it was time to turn my card over to the red side.
Stop bringing me meat. Stop.
I somehow left room for dessert. Chocolate Lava Cake. I can't say no to that.
What a fun restaurant!! Definitely not a good spot if you are a vegetarian. :)
Breakfast this morning was some leftover quiche that I brought home from Tami's birthday breakfast yesterday. I added some watermelon to it and breakfast was ready in a snap.
After taking the kids to school, I went to spin class. It was a great class…we had a new instructor today and she really whooped us.
Lunch was tuna salad, Greek Salsa leftovers and pita.
It's Bunco at Cathi's tonight which pretty much guarantees delicious eats!
How do you like your Rice Krispies treats? Plain or with added goodies?

OMG, those treats look amazing!! And for the record - you can go to Fogo de Chao, you can just purchase the salad bar and not get any meat. The first time my husband and I went there I was so impressed with the salad bar that he said "please turn over your meat card soon!"
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was bacon wrapped filet - and once I said that was my favorite, the gaucho who served that would be the only one to come my way. :D

ReplyDeleteWe were wondering afterwards if you could just purchase the salad bar. That's good to know!
