142.8...A Birthday in the Mist
I didn’t have a ton of time to make dinner last night. That’s when things like Trader Joe’s Orange Chicken comes into play.
I also used their frozen brown rice and frozen broccoli. Thank you Trader Joe’s for making my life easier.
Today was the first morning I didn’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to get the kids off to school. What a pleasure it was. I did enjoy my normal breakfast though.
Besides being the first day of summer vacation, it was a special day for another reason. It was my friend Kate’s birthday and we celebrated in style at Piatti La Jolla for lunch.
We sat on their outdoor patio and normally it would be a beautiful sunny day in June but today was overcast and misting all over us. No worries….there were Bellinis to help us forget about the weather.
We all shared some Eggplant Goat Cheese Rolls:
Salmon Crostinis:
I ordered a Chopped Salad (chopped romaine, salami, artichokes, peppers, chickpeas, provolone, parmesan, crostini & herb vinaigrette):
Everything was fabulous!!!
Happy Birthday to my beautiful friend Kate! xoxo
