147.6...Beach Eats
Our weekend at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club was amazing. I’m not the biggest beach fan (not too keen on sand) but I had a blast.
We settled into our room and then went out to dinner at Su Casa. We started with table-side guacamole. It’s a must.
The guacamole was excellent. My Crab Enchiladas? Eh. Bland. Boo.
After a good dousing in Cholula, they were better.
Saturday morning my husband picked up breakfast at Harry’s Coffee Shop. We split the Carne Asada Breakfast Burrito (carne asada, eggs, cheese, hash browns, onions, tomatoes & guacamole) and hash browns.
Amazing breakfast burrito. The hash browns were perfect too! Sometimes it’s hard to find old school hash browns like that! I’m glad we split it…it was huge!
The rest of the day was spent at the beach.
The kids boogie boarded and swam until they couldn’t do it anymore. It was so fun to watch them enjoy themselves so much!
I had a tuna sandwich and fries for lunch. Great sandwich!
That night we went to Barbarella’s for dinner. My husband and I split the Barbarella Chop Salad (cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, toasted almonds, avocado):
I ordered the Spaghetti con Vongole which was delicious.
Yesterday morning we had to have the Carne Asada Breakfast Burrito from Harry’s again!
It was back to the beach. I had The Italian Garden Salad for lunch.
Then we packed up and headed home. We went over to Alicia’s for dinner. She made her fabulous tacos and shrimp!
Breakfast this morning was the old favorite:
I dropped my son off at camp and then I took my daughter to the San Diego Zoo. We took the bus tour, then stopped for lunch at the Tree Top Cafe. I had the Greek Salad which was surprisingly good!
Then I treated my daughter to the Backstage Pass Tour/Show. It was fabulous! It’s not everyday you get to feed giraffes and flamingoes!
What is your favorite animal to see at the zoo?
