145.8...Halloween Shenanigans
How is it Monday already?? Seems like it was just Friday….
After my son’s basketball practice Friday night, we went to Mia Francesca for dinner. I ordered the Branzino alla Fresca (roasted sea bass with avocado, tomatoes, red onions, basil, lemon olive oil over grilled asparagus):
They normally serve this dish over salmon which I prefer. The sea bass was good but the salmon is better.
Breakfast Saturday morning:
We went to my son’s basketball game, then Pei Wei for lunch. I ordered the kid’s size Steamed Honey Seared Shrimp with brown rice and veggies:
Later that evening, our friends Jon & Kate came over with their kids. The kids got dressed up in their Halloween costumes and we headed over to our club for their annual Halloween party. They had all sorts of creepy crawlies to check out! I thought I’d meet a couple.
Little alligator!
He was cute for sure but my personal favorite was the forty pound Burmese python!
Nobody wanted to get near me. I wonder why! Lol. I couldn’t get over how heavy the snake was! It did start to slither up into my hair in the photo above. I was calm before that but that did make me a bit nervous. ;)
There was a delicious buffet for dinner. The mushroom pasta was the best!
They had a bounce house, a DJ and other fun actives for the kids. Last year they had an amazing haunted house but not this year. :(
Later Saturday night, my brother in law and nephew from Atlanta arrived for a short visit. Sunday morning we went to my sister in law Julie’s house for breakfast. She had a fabulous spread of breakfast burritos, bagels, lox and different breads!
Next up was the Chargers vs. Raiders game! I don’t have much to say about this game since the outcome was so terrible and embarrassing so I’ll just show you the sandwich I ate. Way more exciting.
Last night I threw together a quick dinner thanks to Trader Joe’s. I tried their Tempura Sweet & Sour Chicken for the first time. I paired it with their microwave brown rice and steamed some frozen broccoli. Easy.
While the chicken was good, I prefer their Orange Chicken better!
Breakfast this morning:
After I took the kids to school, I went to spin class. I ran some errands then came home to catch up on email, etc.
Lunch was a turkey sandwich and a salad.
Are you dressing up for Halloween this year?

I am going to a Halloween party but haven't decided what I am going to be yet! My daughter and I love the orange chicken from TJs - I need to pick some up again :D
