146.0...Yummy Mother's Day
I can’t say Thursday’s dinner was super exciting but I enjoyed it. I roasted some salmon and asparagus and threw in some leftover white rice with some soy sauce for good measure.
Friday’s breakfast:
I took the kids to school, then went to spin class at the gym. I ran some errands, stopping at Sushiya to have lunch with a friend.
Miso Soup:
Salmon, yellowtail and tuna sushi:
Lemon Salmon Roll:
We went to my son’s basketball game that evening. Afterwards we went to dinner at Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza. I tried one of their new appetizers: Shrimp Ceviche.
It was ok. It wasn’t at all what I expected though. Probably wouldn’t order it again.
My husband and I shared our favorite salad, Chopped Chicken Salad.
Saturday morning, I ran out of time for my usual breakfast. I grabbed this out of my pantry on the way out of the house:
It tasted good with my coffee but it wasn’t that exciting.
I took the kiddos to “puppy class.” You see, we are getting a new puppy! His name is Wally and we should have him in a couple of weeks. His is at the trainer’s right now and we went to visit with him at the puppy class that she leads. Stay tuned!
Afterwards, I went through the McDonald’s drive through for hash browns for the kiddos. I tried their egg white mcmuffin.
It was really good actually!
My mom came into town for Mother’s Day weekend. We took her to lunch at Milton’s. I had the Milton’s Chopped Salad.
For dinner, we went to our club. I ordered the Salmon with Tomatoes and Basil.
It was delicious. I did try some of my mom’s pizza and the kids’ fries. Lol.
Sunday’s breakfast:
For lunch, we went to Duke’s La Jolla. We had a great table over looking the ocean and it turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day! We all enjoyed some champagne and shared Black Bean Nachos.
I’m not a big nacho fan, but these were good! They were just missing some Cholula hot sauce (which they didn’t have).
I ordered the Fish Tacos (corn tortillas from El Napolito, salsa verde, cabbage, radish sprouts, raja, chips):
They were good! Of course better with Cholula but I ended up putting Sriracha on them.
Dessert was the best part though:
Hula Pie! (chocolate cookie crust, macadamia nut ice cream, hot fudge, toasted macadamia nuts, whipped cream). You cannot go wrong with a hula pie!
The yummy eats continued at dinner at Firenze. My husband and I spilt a Caesar Salad:
I ordered the Veal Piccata:
Normally I order the Chicken Piccata but I thought I’d shake things up. :) It was great, but I think I like the chicken better!
I have to say, I had such a fun, easy, relaxing Mother’s Day! I hope you all did too!
Monday morning. Boo. You are not my favorite.
I dropped the kids off at school, then went to Hardline Drills class at the gym. Really need to work off the weekend eats!
I ran some errands, stopping at Greenspot Salad Company for lunch.
Ginger Sesame Ahi Bowl. Love.
Tonight is Bunco! Yippee!
Have any yummy desserts this past weekend?

Glad you had a nice Mother's Day - no Cholula?! What! Sometimes sriracha is a good substitute, but I gotta have my Cholula with tacos :D
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you were gone to Kentucky Derby!
