146.6...Los Angeles Once, Los Angeles Twice
On Wednesday night we went to dinner at Pamplemousse Grille with some friends. I hadn’t been there in ages!
To start, I split the Heirloom Tomato Salad with Burrata with my husband:
For my entree I ordered the Basil Roasted Sea Bass (sautéed rock shrimp, polenta cake, sauce antiboise):
Everything was fabulous! I really enjoyed both of the dishes I ordered!
Thursday morning, I skipped my normal breakfast because I had a breakfast meeting at Snooze in Del Mar. I ordered an egg white omelet with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese and spinach. On the side, sliced tomatoes and wheat toast.
Then I hit the road for Los Angeles. I met up with my mom and we went to lunch and a bit of shopping at Neiman Marcus. I ordered the Salmon Tacos.
They were pretty tasty!
After lunch, we went to my brother’s house to get ready for his Law Firm’s Anniversary Party. We headed to the party at Elevate Lounge in downtown Los Angeles.
My mom, my brother and I:
We had a few snacks at the party then headed home. My sister in law picked up dinner at Thai Talay.
We shared Red Devil Noodle (flat noodle, pork, tomato, basil, egg with spicy sauce), Orange Chicken, Garlic Green Beans. The noodles were just ok. Not really spicy at all. The orange chicken was more like orange chicken meatballs, not what we were expecting. The garlic green beans were great though!
Friday morning, I got up, got packed and headed back to San Diego. I ate a Fiber One bar in the car on the way. I met some friends at Sushiya for lunch.
Miso Soup:
Tuna, yellowtail, salmon sushi:
Shogun Roll:
En Fuego Roll:
Friday evening, we went to my son’s basketball game, then to Pizza Rev for dinner.
It’s so stinkin good.
Saturday’s breakfast:
Then we headed BACK to Los Angeles! This time it was for my nephew’s birthday party.
I enjoyed two slices of pizza, salad and cake for lunch.
We went back to my brother in law’s house for the rest of the afternoon. Dinner was Wood Ranch BBQ.
Their steak and macaroni and cheese there are out of this world. I had to seriously restrain myself from getting seconds.
Then it was the drive back to San Diego. Ugh.
Today’s breakfast:
I took the kids shopping and to CPK for lunch. I had the Arugula & Asparagus Salad and the Split Pea Soup.
Tonight we are off to dinner and a movie!
Go on any driving trips this weekend?
