146.6...So Much Goodness
There have been so many good meals in the last few days! I did my best to keep it healthy (most of the time) but I’ve definitely been enjoying myself lately!
Wednesday night, I went to Catania in La Jolla with some friends. While Alicia and I waited for the rest of our group to arrive, we split the Wild Alaskan Salmon Crudo (heirloom tomato granita, fennel, pickled shallot, and black pepper):
I really enjoyed this. Very fresh!
The table shared two bowls of Tagliatelle alla Portofino (basil pesto, creamy tomato sauce and parmesan):
This is one of my favorite pasta dishes of all-time. It’s unreal.
Alicia and I split two entrees. Baked Local Line Caught Tuna (grilled polenta, heirloom tomatoes, charred kale, mint, caramelized orange & olives):
This was ok. Nothing special. I really liked our other dish though.
Braised Rabbit Pappardelle (chanterelle mushrooms, roasted bone marrow, gremolata bread crumbs and capers):
Another great pasta dish!
Fun time with friends!
Thursday’s breakfast:
I took the kids to school, went to the gym, then straight to my tennis lesson. Lunch was tuna salad, celery, crackers and pickles:
When I got home from picking the kids up from school, I was hungry so I had some pineapple and watermelon.
We met a couple of friends at Cucina Enoteca in Del Mar for dinner. We split a few appetizers:
Tuna Carpaccio:
Stuffed Squash Blossoms:
Charred Brussels Sprouts:
Loved all three!
I ordered the Farmer’s Chopped Salad with Chicken:
Pretty good!
Friday’s breakfast:
After I took the kids to school, I went to the gym. Then it was off to La Costa for some spa time to celebrate Lauren’s birthday!
After our massages, we had lunch by the pool. I ordered their chicken salad. It is fabulous!!
Dinner that night was homemade pizza and salad. Easy, quiet night. Love that.
Saturday’s breakfast:
We went to my husband’s company’s picnic for the day. For lunch I had barbecue brisket, chicken and baked beans. Yum!
We met some friends for dinner at Dolce Pan E Vino. My husband and I shared the Caprese (vine-ripe tomato, imported buffalo mozzarella, aged balsamic, micro basil, maldon sea salt):
Delish!
For my entree, I ordered Cedar Salmon (Atlantic salmon, charred broccolini, lemon, saba):
Really good. Ate every bite!
Yesterday’s breakfast:
It was time to head out to the Chargers game! I refused to eat hot dogs and fried food so I went on a search for a salad. I cannot tell you how hard it was to find one! Eventually my efforts paid off and I found a cobb salad. Success!
We enjoyed a fabulous victory over the Jaguars!
We celebrated with some friends at Burger Night at our club. I went with a lettuce wrapped turkey burger with cheddar cheese, pickles, tomatoes, red onion and chipotle aioli. I decided on a salad instead of sweet potato fries.
Today’s breakfast:
I took the kids to school then went to the gym.
I met Alicia and Lisa at the mall to run some errands and have lunch. We decided on Lemonade. I had never been and was excited to try it.
My first impression was that it was confusing how to order. It wasn’t like Urban Plates where there’s actual meals where you choose your two sides or you just pick your salad. Everything was a la carte it seemed. I decided to keep things simple with an entree of mixed greens and the Citrus Poached Salmon Fillet.
So..if you order the salmon not on a salad, it comes in a whole piece. Not sure why they cut it all up for the salad. I thought it looked like it was for child. ;)
At least it tasted good! I would definitely give Lemonade another try but still like Urban Plates much better.
I’m actually making a new recipe for dinner tonight!
Do you try to search out healthier options at stadiums and the like?
