147.0...Labor Day, Yay!
Cheers to three day weekends! They truly are the best. Happy Labor Day to all!
Let’s rewind to Tuesday night. I had a couple of chicken meatballs in the freezer from Firenze. I defrosted one and added it to some leftover pasta. I threw in a green salad for good measure.
Breakfast Wednesday:
After I took the kids to school, I went to the gym. 30 minutes on the treadmill, 30 minutes on the elliptical. Done.
Lunch was with some friends at Tabu Sushi. Salmon, Tuna, Yellowtail Sushi:
Lemon Cilantro Roll:
Big Ed Roll:
I had limited time to throw a dinner together for myself before heading out the door to my daughter’s back to school night. I had picked up this bag of Shaved Brussels Sprouts from Trader Joe’s. I followed the recipe for Balsamic Brussels Sprouts on the back.
Along with some roasted salmon, it was a great dinner!
Thursday’s breakfast:
I took the kids to school, then hit the gym again for some weights mostly. I took my poor dog Wally in to get neutered afterwards. :(
Lunch was leftover Taco Soup. I apologize for the messy looking bowl.
Then it was off to my tennis lesson and to pick up the kids from school.
It was another rush to get to my son’s back to school night. I had the last chicken meatball and the rest of the Brussels Sprouts. Easy.
Friday’s breakfast:
I came home to pack and get ready to head to Los Angeles for my nephew’s Bar Mitzvah. We picked up lunch to eat in the car from Which Wich.
I had a turkey and avocado sandwich on wheat bread.
We grabbed the kids from school and hit the road.
We checked in the Langham Hotel, got dressed and headed to meet everyone at Porto Alegre Brazilian Steakhouse for dinner.
I had a whole bunch of deliciousness at the salad bar to start.
Then all the different meats kept arriving at our table. It’s too hard to take pictures of each skewer of meat flying around so I’ll let you use your imagination.
After dinner we headed to the synagogue for services and dessert.
The next morning we were up early to get ready for services and the Bar Mitzvah. I enjoyed an egg white omelet with cheddar cheese, onions, spinach, tomato slices and wheat toast thanks to room service.
After services, we enjoyed a buffet lunch. The tuna salad was my favorite.
The rest of the day was spent by the pool with the family.
Dinner was at El Cholo. We watched the USC game (don’t get me started) while enjoyed some appetizers.
Dinner was a buffet of enchiladas, rice, beans and all the fixings.
So delicious!
We went back to the temple for dessert and the final party.
I enjoyed the breakfast from the buffet at our hotel on Sunday morning.
We got dressed, packed and headed to the Magic Caste for the final event of the Bar Mitzvah celebration.
I helped myself to the Brunch buffet.
We saw a couple of magic shows then drove back to San Diego. I really wasn’t super hungry for dinner last night so I had a few cheese and crackers and called it a day.
It was nice to sleep in this morning for sure! Breakfast:
Today has been spent unpacking and picking up around the house. Lunch was a turkey sandwich, hummus, pita chips and a pickle:
I’m trying to eat light today because we have an extra yummy dinner coming up tonight! Happy Labor Day!
What are you up to this Labor Day weekend?

I am going to pin your taco soup - pretty sure I can eat soup 365 days a year. Glad you had a nice long weekend with family!
