137.0 yesterday...Busy Bee
I have no excuse for not posting in over a week except for the fact that I’ve been non-stop going, going, going. I feel like I’ve barely had time to breathe. We just arrived in Hawaii last night for spring break, so I now have time to relax!
Last Wednesday, I took my son to basketball practice and stopped at Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza for dinner. I had my favorite Chopped Chicken Salad.
Last Thursday’s breakfast:
I took the kids to school, then went to the gym, followed by a tennis lesson. I ran some errands, stopping at Napizza for lunch. I had the Greek Quinoa Salad. I really love this salad. The salmon is so good!
After school, my daughter had a tennis lesson. For dinner, I met some friends at Ken's Sushi Workshop. We shared a whole bunch of yummy stuff.
Last Friday’s breakfast:
I dropped off the kids at school, then went to the gym.
Lunch was at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse celebrating Lila’s birthday. The table shared a couple of appetizers.
Seared Ahi Tuna:
Spicy Shrimp:
Both were delicious!
I ordered the Chilled Shellfish Salad (tender jumbo shrimp and jumbo lump crabmeat, dressed in fresh-squeezed lemon and olive oil and served on a bed of mixed greens, tomatoes and diced peppers):
It was delicious!!
Happy Birthday Lila!
For dinner that night we went to our club. I had the salmon. It’s so yummy there.
For dessert we went to Creamistry. My husband and I shared the Salted Caramel with Hot Fudge:
The ice cream is good but it’s definitely over-priced.
Last Saturday’s breakfast:
We had a fun filled day. We met a bunch of friends and flew to Phoenix, Arizona for the Final Four Basketball games! We watched both games and it was a blast!
I had a hot dog for lunch. Loaded with mustard and onions, just the way I like it.
Yamia and I:
We grabbed some pizza on the way home.
Such a fun but long day!
Sunday’s breakfast:
I spent the day catching up on laundry and all the stuff I had been neglecting the past week. Lunch was a tuna melt and pickles.
For dinner, we went to Burger Night at our club. It was back to the lettuce wrapped turkey burger with tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, chipotle aioli and sweet potato fries.
Monday’s breakfast:
I dropped the kids off at school, then went to the gym. I ran some errands and came home for lunch. I bought some Chicken Tortilla Soup from the grocery store:
Fast and easy.
That afternoon, I was hungry so I had a That’s It Bar:
We went over to our friend’s house to watch The Finals in college basketball. We enjoyed some Phil’s BBQ.
A few os us, including myself, brought a Nothing Bundt Cake for dessert. LOL.
Our hosts were big North Carolina fans so thank goodness they won!!!!
And, of course, I had to try all the cakes.
Tuesday’s breakfast:
After the school drop off, I went to the gym, then an appointment, errands and lunch at Urban Plates.
It was my husband’s birthday that day so we celebrated at Benihana with family and friends.
I seriously love this meal. It’s one of my favorites.
Wednesday’s breakfast:
Kids went to school, then I went to Orange Theory. I hadn’t been in awhile so it really kicked my butt. I came home to do laundry, wait for a repair guy and make a quick lunch. Tuna melt and pickles:
That evening was my annual “Swap Party”. Everyone cleans out their closets and brings over their no-longer needed items. We hang everything up, then everyone “goes shopping.” Its always fun and you come home with brand new (to you) stuff! Everyone brings an appetizer and wine to share. I made an easy appetizer: Goat Cheese with Fig Butter:
A taste of what everyone else brought:
For dessert, I bought some chocolate bundt cakes and cookie butter cheesecake bites from Trader Joe’s. I had some chocolate covered strawberries that were a gift so I put those out as well.
Thursday’s breakfast:
I took the kids to school, then went to the gym. I met some friends for coffee then went to an appointment. I ran some errands and grabbed the Greek Quinoa Salad from Napizza for lunch.
I went to my son’s baseball game, then took my daughter to her tennis lesson. Dinner was simple: pasta and salad.
Friday’s breakfast:
I took the kids to school, then went to a sculpt class at Sculpt Fusion Yoga. A friend had convinced me to go and try it. The only way I can describe it is doing a boot camp type class in 102 degree weather. I’ve never sweat so much in my life. The class was good but I’m not sure the heat was for me. If you can’t take the heat…..
I came home to quickly finish packing for Hawaii. I had a tuna sandwich and pickles for lunch.
Our flight from San Diego to Los Angeles was canceled so we had to drive to LA instead. We met up with Alicia, Joe and her family (who are on our trip with us) and we had dinner at one of the restaurants at the airport. My husband and I split a burger, fries and a Caesar salad,
The flight was looooong. I had a cheese plate on the plane. We arrived pretty late and got to the home we are staying at and went to bed.
This view wasn’t so bad to wake up to:
We all went to breakfast at Slappy Cakes. Some important breakfast liquids:
I had the Carnitas Benedict (lilikoi and orange braised Duroc pork shoulder, jalapeño-cheddar English muffin, guacamole, jalapeño, cilantro, radish and hollandaise):
Delicious. Wow. What was also good was their Candied Bacon with Macadamia Nuts:
This places was so cute. Each table has a griddle and you can cook your own pancakes. You order the type of batter and toppings you want and you can make them yourself. The kids had a blast!
Alicia and I went grocery shopping and now we are lounging by the pool. Cheers to spring break!!!
Any spring break plans?
