149.8...Three Meals in One
On Thursday night I reheated some Chicken Stroganoff leftovers for dinner.
While it was super delicious fresh, it didn’t reheat as well. I think if I had added some chicken broth before reheating it might have been better. It was just really dry. Boo.
Friday’s breakfast:
I took the kids to school then went to Orange Theory. That workout kicked my butt. I was tired the rest of the day.
I had a Bar Mitzvah meeting at Coasterra so I grabbed some lunch there before. I always order the Ahi Tuna Tostada (garlic & sesame glazed yellowfin tuna, soy sauce, agave, lemon-agave slaw, Spanish peanuts, cilantro, sesame corn tortilla):
So delicious!! And the view there is ridiculous. Great lunch!
My daughter had a sleepover at a friends house so my son and I met Alicia and her family at Firenze for dinner. We shared the Calamari to start:
As well as a Chopped Caesar Salad:
I ordered the Risotto Fantastico (sliced filet mignon and shrimp sautéed in aged balsamic sauce with onions and prosciutto, then served over risotto):
This was really delicious but rich! I ate about a third of it and brought it home.
Saturday’s breakfast:
I was still feeling super tired so I wasn’t super productive. Lunch was some leftover pasta in the fridge:
I had a late dinner planned with friends so I grabbed a Square Organics bar for an afternoon snack.
I met a few friends at Born and Raised for dinner and drinks.
My meal started with the Burrata Salad which was delicious.
We shared the mac & cheese which was outstanding.
I ordered the Steak Tartare which was prepared table side.
It was quite possible the best steak tartare I’ve ever had. I really enjoyed my meal here. And the restaurant was beautiful!!!
Sunday’s breakfast:
Sunday was much more productive. I tackled some projects around the house that i’ve been wanting to get done.
I ordered lunch from Ototo Sushi.
My husband had been aways and came home Sunday night. After I picked him up at the airport, we went to our club for Burger Night.
Turkey burger lettuce wrapped with tomato, onions, jalapeños, chipotle aioli and sweet potato fries!
Monday’s breakfast:
After I took the kids to school, I met my trainer at the gym. Post-workout snack:
I came home and got my desk and email cleaned up. Lunch was tuna salad, crackers and pickles:
I went to my son’s basketball game and came home for the night. My husband was working late so I reheated some of the risotto from Firenze and made a salad.
I think the risotto was even better reheated somehow. It was really good!
Yesterday’s breakfast:
I went to my favorite spin class after I took the kids to school. Snack:
Then it was off to another Phillis Carey cooking class! This class was “Easy New Year Dishes”.
The first dish was Buffalo Chicken and Cauliflower Bake with Cheddar and Gouda Cheeses:
Being a Buffalo hot sauce lover, I knew before eating this that I would love it. I was right. It was fabulous.
The second dish was Chicken and Italian Sausage Sauté with Olives, Capers and Lemons served with Garlicky Olive Bread:
While the chicken was good, I really enjoyed dipping the yummy bread in the sauce!
Next was Lemony Cajun-Seasoned Salmon with Roasted Brussels Sprouts:
The sauce on the salmon was great and went really well with the Brussels Sprouts!
The next dish was Pork Tenderloin with Pears and Caramelized Shallots:
While I’m not a pear fan, the sauce was good on the pork. I just left the pears alone. ;)
Dessert was Chocolate Mascarpone Panna Cotta with Shaved Chocolate Topping:
So rich and fabulous! Loved it!
I ran some errands then picked up the kids from school. Dinner was the rest of the risotto. Three meals in one!!
Today’s breakfast:
I’m sitting in Starbucks awaiting my Orange Theory class. Wish me luck!
